Your questions... answered!
Will there be customs when arriving in France?
Yes. Please note that customs may check if you have a return or onward travel ticket, proof of accommodation and enough money for your stay. You may not bring any dairy or meat or any product containing them into the EU (exceptions apply). Please note that you’ll need a certificate if you wish to take certain plants and plant products into the EU.
Will I be able to use my mobile data roaming in France?
Rules around mobile data roaming have changed and you may face charges when using data roaming abroad. Please check the data roaming policy of your mobile phone provider for more information. At Disneyland Paris we have free Wi-Fi connection available in the Disney Parks, restaurants and in the Disney Hotels.
Can I travel to France with my pet?
Please note that the pet passport scheme is no longer valid for travel in the EU. You will now need to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for your pet. Allow at least 1 month to arrange this and any relevant vaccinations.
Can I drive with a UK driving license in France?
When travelling by car, please remember to ensure you have the minimum insurance cover required for driving in France. Please check all local requirements when driving in the country, including the need to have a UK sticker clearly displayed on the rear of your vehicle, either in the form of a sticker or as part of the license plate. Check the UK government guidance for driving abroad when planning your trip.
Do I need a visa to travel to France?
A visa is not required for stays up to 90 days over a 180-day period in the European Union. Visit the UK government website for up-to-date travel advice.
Do I still need travel insurance if I have a GHIC or EHIC card?
Yes, you should still take out travel insurance even if you have a GHIC or EHIC card. The cards are not an alternative to insurance and you should have both before you travel. The GHIC and EHIC cards do not cover all health-related costs, for example medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatments and non-urgent treatments.
What is the Entry/Exit System (EES) and how will it be implemented?
The European Union has introduced a new digital border Entry/Exit System (EES), changing requirements for non-EU nationals travelling to certain European countries, including France. This new electronic system replaces the manual stamping of passports when you enter a country in the Schengen area, registering all entry and exit movements electronically. The new Entry/Exit System (EES) began operations on 12 October 2025. The 29 European countries using the EES have been gradually implementing the system at their external borders. This means that data collection by the authorities is being introduced progressively at border crossing points, with implementation continuing across participating European countries until the system is fully operational at all external border crossing points. These European countries are introducing the different elements of the EES in phases, including the collection of biometric data, such as facial image and fingerprints. This means that travellers' biometric data (facial image and fingerprints) might not be collected at every border crossing point right away, and their personal information may not be registered in the system. Passports will continue to be stamped as usual. For more information, please visit our FAQs.
